QEI - QUALITY ENGINEER (SDET) – Client Team Position Overview: Ala*** is seeking a Quality Engineer with an interest in Software Development in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will support the quality, performance, and reliability of our web and mobile applications through a combination of manual testing, test automation, and modern quality practices.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate has 0–1 years of experience in quality engineering, software testing, internships, or academic projects; is eager to grow automation
  • acceptance criteria, and expected behavior.
  • Participate in design and technical discussions to learn about testability, quality, and automation best practices.
  • Help maintain test frameworks,
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 0–1 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, internships, co‑ops, or relevant academic projects.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Foundational understanding of software testing concepts such as functional and regression testing.
  • Exposure to UI or API test automation
  • Internship, academic, or personal project experience related to QA, automation, or software development.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or data validation concepts.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will support the quality, performance, and reliability of our web and mobile applications through a combination of manual testing, test automation, and modern quality practices.
  • You will work closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, UX Design, DevOps, and Support while learning how quality is built into Ala*** products throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Learn and develop an understanding of Ala***'s products, customer workflows, and system architecture.
  • Execute manual test cases, identify and document defects, and help track issues through resolution and verification.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and maintenance of automated UI and API tests with guidance from more experienced team members.
